About Me

I'm a writer and editor living in Northeast Ohio. I earned my MA and my PhD (2019) from Loyola Chicago, where I studied religion and politics in modern American literature. I also taught courses on introductory and creative writing, horror and religious fiction, and served as Assistant Director of the Writing Center.

I've written dozens of articles exploring Christianity's complicated relationships with contemporary media, pop culture and political power, contributing essays to Church Life Journal, The Christian Century, Christ & Pop Culture, The Englewood Review of Books and numerous other outlets. My scholarship has appeared in Christianity & Literature, Renascence, Textual Cultures and several edited volumes. I've also published poems and short stories with The Cresset, Short Édition and Speculative City.

Since completing my doctorate, I've worked with several not-for-profit community and research efforts at the intersections of Christian spirituality, nonviolent activism and the psychology of desire. I still teach part-time. I've also served as a reader and editor at TL;DR Press and Whale Road Review, and for several other creators in academia, indie media, and my not-so-secret favorite art space: tabletop gaming.

I am currently working on my fourth novel, as my two children permit.
